1st Shift - CNC Machinist , $16-$25/hr - Mason, MI

Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent grasp of mathematics, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and a good understanding of mechanical systems for purpose of material fabrication, able to use both imperial and metric standards
- Experience in using and/or programming CNC, manual, semi-automated, or automated tools and machines (lathes, mills, etc.)
- Responsible for CNC machine operation, set up, adjusting, operation, and monitoring all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations. Offset Adjustments, simple edits, deburring, and inspecting quality parts. Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter and fit and assemble parts to make or repair machine tools. Review work center for maintenance compliance
- Measuring perpendicular, parallelism, concentricity, and run out on manufactured components. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers Ability to perform simple set-ups with minimal supervision, use inspection equipment and inspect your own work to maintain quality and productivity standard while holding close tolerance dimensions with minimal assistance. Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers using micrometers, gage pins, thread gages, digital/analog indicators, surface plates, calipers, and other tools, fixtures, and jigs as required
- Set controls to regulate machining, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media
- Ability to identify to steel and other materials
- Must know how to read a tape measure (down to 32nds).
Preferred Skills:
- Able to safely lift 50 lbs.
- Read and understand instructions (verbal and written), blueprints or diagrams, reviewing samples, drawings to understand the specifications of output.
- 2-5 years programming experience preferred, working with Fusion 360 a plus
- Reading CNC programs (G & M code), and ability to edit a program in order to make corrections and or improve efficiency, able to read and interpret GD&T
- Evaluate experimental procedures, and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency and adaptability to setup and production. Design fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs
