Metal Casting Laborer: Montgomery, Illinois

Our customer in Montgomery, Illinois is looking for a hardworking, detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Metal Casting Laborer to work full-time on 1st shift. In this role, you’ll support metal casting operations by assisting with mold preparation, pouring processes, and operating casting equipment while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Responsibilities of the Metal Casting Laborer:

Assist with metal casting operations including mold preparation, pouring molten metal, and part removal.
Support experienced casters with vacuum systems, casting equipment, and daily production tasks.
Monitor melt temperatures, skim surfaces, and pour specified amounts of metal into molds.
Operate die opening machines and assist with separating, removing, and inspecting cast parts.
Clean and maintain furnaces, crucibles, tools, and casting equipment.
Use material handling equipment such as hoists, ladles, and power trucks.
Record basic production data and report equipment issues or material discrepancies.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
Work with team members on larger or more complex parts as needed.

Metal Casting Laborer Requirements and Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Willingness to be trained in metal casting processes.
Ability to follow verbal instructions and hands-on demonstrations.
Ability to work on your feet and perform physical job duties throughout the shift.
Ability to lift and move materials as required.
Ability to wear required PPE including steel-toed shoes.
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Pay for Metal Casting Laborer: $19.50/hour.

Schedule: Monday – Friday from 6:00am – 2:30pm or 5:00am – 1:25pm. May work 10–12 hour shifts and up to 3 Saturdays per month as needed.
