Medical Billing & Patient Access Representative
Location: On-Site, Pittsburgh, PA 15224 (Lawrenceville area)
Hours: Daylight Schedule, Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (no weekends or holidays)
Status: Full-Time/Permanent - Direct Company Hire - Successful candidates will be brought on as direct staff members with immediate access to company-sponsored benefits.
New Hire Starting Pay: Up to $22.00 per hour (Based on experience)
After-Hire Earning Potential: Your compensation grows as you do. The Company offers incremental, performance-based pay increases tied to job experience and technical proficiency. While initial offers are based on current experience, successful team members have the opportunity to reach an earning ceiling of $30.00 per hour through the internal advancement structure.

Mandatory Requirements
Applications will not be considered unless all of the following criteria are met:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a medical office environment working with medical billing.
- Technical Proficiencies: Proven experience with personal computer-based applications, office equipment, and proficient typing skills.
- Financial Literacy: Ability to discuss and coordinate financial arrangements, including the collection of pre-payments.
- System Knowledge: Prior hands-on experience with Medipac, Epic, or similar electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Terminology: Working knowledge of medical terminology to accurately process registrations and clinical triaging.
- Communication: Ability to confidently and clearly communicate complex information regarding insurance, portals, and care instructions to ensure a smooth patient experience.
Position Overview
The Medical Billing & Patient Access Representative is a professional and empathetic primary point of contact for patients. This role is vital in ensuring a seamless healthcare experience, from the initial warm greeting to navigating complex scheduling and financial responsibilities. Core Responsibilities
- Patient Navigation: Greet patients warmly and assist with self-arrival technology or manual check-in based on preference. Provide clear instructions to help patients navigate the healthcare system and ensure continuity of care.
- Financial Coordination: Collect copayments and point-of-service payments. Educate patients on financial responsibilities and connect them with advocacy resources as needed.
- Administrative Excellence: Confirm and update registration information, schedule follow-up appointments, and coordinate ancillary services. Manage high-volume phone triaging and administrative tasks such as scanning and faxing.
- Digital Advocacy: Register patients in Biometrics programs and promote the patient portal, staying informed on its usability to assist patients in accessing their health information.
- Compliance & Recovery: Obtain necessary consents following HIPAA regulations and apply service recovery principles to resolve any patient experience issues promptly.
