Compensation & Growth
- Starting Range: Up to $21.27/hr (Commensurate with experience, aligned with the 25th percentile of the hiring range).
- Long-Term Potential: The position offers a growth ceiling of up to $28.11/hr. This maximum rate is the target for established employees achieved through continuous learning, internal advancement, and sustained excellence in patient financial services.

Key Responsibilities
- Authorization Management: Obtain initial and subsequent prior authorizations and referrals as required by specific payers to ensure timely treatment.
- Insurance Verification: Secure comprehensive verification of insurance benefits prior to office visits and clinical procedures.
- Financial Counseling: Meet with patients and families to discuss billing issues, deductibles, and out-of-pocket limits; complete the financial counseling process for all patients prior to treatment.
- Assistance Coordination: Evaluate patients for eligibility in drug reimbursement programs, financial assistance applications, and other available resources for non-reimbursable medications.
- Claims Collaboration: Work closely with the billing department to resolve insurance claims and address inquiries from walk-in patients.
- Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards in all communications and documentation.
Mandatory Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional work experience is required.
- Specialized Knowledge: * Mastery of medical terminology is required.
- In-depth knowledge of third-party payer rules, regulations, and credit/collection laws is required.
- Prior experience in an Oncology or Hematology clinical setting is required.
- Specific experience managing health insurance authorizations is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in word processing and computer applications is required; experience with EPIC electronic health records is required.
- Core Competencies: Ability to work effectively in a high-volume team environment and solve complex problems through professional communication.
