Job Summary:
The CNC Machinist – Night Shift is responsible for supporting CNC machining operations during overnight production hours. This hands-on position requires advanced machining expertise to ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. The ideal candidate is a skilled CNC machinist capable of programming, setting up, and troubleshooting CNC equipment while contributing to a high-performing night shift team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes (Fanuc controls preferred)
• Interpret complex blueprints, work instructions, and GD&T requirements
• Ensure production goals, quality standards, and delivery timelines are met
• Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMM equipment
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and process issues to maintain efficiency and accuracy
• Follow safety policies and proper use of hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and shop equipment
• Promote continuous improvement and teamwork across the shift
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with strong G-code knowledge
• Proficiency reading blueprints and applying GD&T
• Experience with CNC mills and lathes (Fanuc controls preferred)
• Strong understanding of tooling, setup procedures, and machining math
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments accurately
• Comfortable operating shop equipment including forklifts and welding tools
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Associate degree in machining or related field preferred
• 5+ years of CNC machining experience preferred
Working Conditions:
• Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, tooling, and moderate noise levels
• Standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive motion throughout the shift
• Ability to work independently during overnight hours
• Expected schedule of 40 hours per week on a 4-day workweek
