Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Metal Fabricator to join a dynamic fabrication team in Dayton, MN. This role is responsible for cutting, shaping, welding, and assembling metal components according to detailed specifications and blueprints. The ideal candidate has strong technical abilities, welding experience, and hands-on experience operating fabrication equipment including shears and press brakes, with a commitment to producing high-quality work in a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures and components
 • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
 • Operate fabrication equipment including saws, shears, plasma cutters, grinders, press brakes, and welding machines
 • Set up and operate shear and press brake equipment to cut and form metal components to required specifications
 • Perform MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding as required
 • Measure, cut, bend, and fit metal materials with precision
 • Inspect finished products to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications
 • Maintain tools, equipment, and an organized work area
 • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
 • Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines

 

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required (trade school preferred)
 • Minimum of 2 years of metal fabrication experience preferred
 • Proficiency in MIG and/or TIG welding
 • Experience operating shear and press brake equipment
 • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
 • Strong math and measurement skills
 • Familiarity with fabrication tools and shop machinery
 • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and stand for extended periods
 • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
 • Safety-focused mindset

 

Preferred Skills

• CNC machining or programming experience
 • Additional experience operating press brakes, rollers, or other forming equipment
 • Mechanical or manufacturing background
 • Forklift or overhead crane certification

 

Working Conditions

This position operates in a fabrication and manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, welding equipment, and moderate noise levels. The role requires standing, bending, lifting, and handling metal materials throughout the shift. Proper PPE must be worn at all times.
