Position Overview
Cardinal Staffing is seeking motivated and dependable General Laborers for a steel manufacturing facility in New Boston, MI. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading employer in the area offering weekly pay, competitive wages, and the potential for full-time hire after 90 days based on attendance and performance.
The primary purpose of this role is to perform general labor activities in a steel production environment, including assisting machine operators, handling materials, inspecting products, and preparing finished goods for shipment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Pull finished parts off laser machines
- Assist Steel Slitters with slitting sheet metal to customer-specified sizes
- Band steel coils and prepare materials for shipment
- Assist shear operators and support production team as needed
- Inspect materials for defects while moving along the production line
- Set up and prepare skids for finished product
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation to ensure a safe working environment
- Follow all company safety standards and procedures
- Work overtime when required due to increased production demands
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must provide an updated resume reflecting recent work history
- Ability to consistently lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift
- Steel toe boots/shoes required
- Must be able to read and speak English fluently
- Strong attention to detail for defect inspection
- Team-oriented with the ability to work well with others
- Excellent attendance and stable work history required
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment
Compensation & Benefits
- $17.40 per hour
- Weekly pay
- Potential for hire-in after 90 days (based on performance and attendance)
- Full benefits available upon direct hire
