Title: Plant Controller
Location: Goodyear, AZ
Pay Rate: $125,000 – $150,000

This key leadership role will act as a business partner to plant and financial management, overseeing daily accounting operations and driving financial discipline throughout the manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be accountable for all plant-level financial processes including budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, inventory control, cost accounting, capital spending, and business analysis. This role also maintains a strong connection with corporate finance to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Planning
- Lead the annual budget process and contribute to strategic operational planning
- Prepare and manage financial forecasts and projections for the plant
Financial and Operational Controls
- Ensure strong internal control systems (data integrity, segregation of duties, asset protection)
- Maintain compliance with GAAP, SOX, and corporate policies
- Drive accountability and documentation of financial processes
- Support continuous improvement, contingency planning, and risk mitigation
Reporting and Analysis
- Analyze financial and operational data, identify trends and communicate insights
- Lead the monthly close process and performance reporting
- Translate financial data into actionable information for plant and senior management
- Conduct risk assessments and support contingency planning
Driving Plant Profitability
- Support and drive actions to meet financial targets and improve performance
- Conduct investment analysis and capital expenditure reviews
- Educate plant teams on key financial and operational performance metrics
Plant Process and Administrative Leadership
- Partner with the site leadership team on productivity and efficiency projects
- Manage and mentor the plant finance/accounting team
- ERP experience a plus (implementation, training, and change management)
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives and special projects as assigned
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA and/or MBA preferred
- 5–10 years of experience in plant controlling or cost management within manufacturing
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing finance/accounting teams
- Deep understanding of cost accounting, budgeting, and variance analysis
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and financial reporting tools
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
